About the Role:

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic Alert Processing Team. The team is a part of BigPanda's Incident Intelligence Group, which handles millions of daily events across multiple high-performance cloud services. 

As a part of its efforts to ensure high-quality outputs, the team is working on normalizing and enriching raw alerts. Your efforts will improve our system's ability to match incidents efficiently and reduce unnecessary alerts, improving overall accuracy and consistency for our clients.

What you will do:

• Work in a large-scale distributed system environment, focusing on reliability and scalability
• Own, maintain, and optimize high-standard end-to-end features
• Utilize technologies like Scala, Akka, Java, Nodejs, MongoDB, and Kafka to maintain and improve our key pipeline services
• Creatively innovate your development practices to solve complex problems
• Lead technical initiatives that raise the bar of the team’s coding and architecture skills

What skills and experience you’ll bring to BigPanda:

• At least 7 years of experience in backend software engineering 
• At least 4 years of software engineering in Java or Scala
• Experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems
• Experience with event streaming tools and methodologies such as Kafka or equivalent 
• Experience in developing end-to-end, production-ready, key features
• Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas and concepts
