Software Engineer, Lead

What you'll do:

• Lead the design and architecture of our platform, alongside platform architects
• Help scale the platform and build new features
• Develop novel algorithms to solve challenging problems
• Create tooling for data and process automation
• Research and design for future tools and techniques
• Communicate with stakeholders to ensure requirements are met and goals are aligned
• Lead and mentor development team members to foster professional growth
• Ensure coding standards and testing principles are met for high-quality code
• Aid in continuous improvement of process, development, and team culture
• Provide support for team deliverables, including code releases, production support/fixes, and testing in a timely manner
• Proactively identify and address technical challenges, risks, and bottlenecks to ensure the successful delivery of projects

What it requires:

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years of work experience in software development, ideally with Microsoft’s .NET Framework
• C#, including asynchronous and parallel programming 
• Performance optimizations in C# 
• SQL Server or other relational databases   
• REST APIs: designing, building, and consuming 
• Unit testing (XUnit preferred) and following SOLID principles 
• Source control systems (Git preferred) 
• Frontend web development (HTML, CSS/Sass and modern JavaScript frameworks – React preferred)

The ideal candidate for this role:

• Has the ability to provide work oversight, coordination, and delivery for a development team (Prioritization, estimation, coordination (team & external))
• Communicates effectively (written and verbal) and works well within a team
• Worked previously in an Agile, product-focused, and deadline-driven environment
• Can translate high-level requirements into workable designs, user stories that other developers can work off and deliver production-ready software
• Takes ownership of all personal output
