For our Global Commercial Products team in the Pharma IT Hub in Barcelona we are hiring a Product Developer for Web Applications.

The Web Developer is part of the Web Product Team of the Pharma Commercial IT & Digital department. Our IT products are developed in collaboration with Bayer Pharma’s commercial business organizations and continuously evolve the traditional business models using digital capabilities and emerging technologies.

The global Web product focuses on delivering websites, web portals and mobile apps to brand and country teams around the world. We develop using cloud technologies such as AWS, based on existing solutions for Web Content Management (in particular Drupal), using protocols such as OpenID Connect and OAuth2.

We are looking for a Web Application Developer skilled in designing, developing, and implementing new features for our product. The right person for this job is required to have a strong focus on user experience.

YOUR TASKS & RESPONSABILITIES

• Web Development: Develop and maintain scalable web applications using advanced features of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frontend frameworks including React and Next.js.

• User Interfaces: Implement high-quality and responsive user interfaces for web applications using React.js and Next.js, integrate GraphQL for efficient data fetching, and leverage TypeScript for enhanced code quality and maintainability.
• Web Content Management: Manage and customize Drupal-based websites, including module development, theming, and configuration. Oversee the creation, publishing, and optimization of content within the defined web content management systems.
• Peer Reviews: Join code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure best practices.
• Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to incorporate relevant advancements into projects. You will be responsible for presenting such ideas to the broader project team.
• Collaboration: Work closely with design and UX teams to ensure seamless integration of front-end design and back-end technology.
• Web API Integration: Implement Web APIs to facilitate data exchange between different systems, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Testing and Debugging: Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of web applications to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and system configuration documentation.
• Security and Performance: Implement best practices for web security and performance optimization, ensuring the application meets high standards for both.
• Integration and Migration: Assist in the integration of third-party services and data sources, as well as migration of existing web applications to new frameworks or platforms.

WHO YOU ARE
 

• University degree in informatics/computer science or adequate professional experience.
• Proven experience as a web developer with the technologies mentioned above.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Proven problem solving and communication skills.
