We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Babbel CRM-Platform team in Berlin!

Babbel's CRM Platform team is responsible for providing services to other teams within the organization to push and maintain their data inside the Emarsys platform. The team is responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and developing and maintaining APIs and integrations.

You will:

• Developing and maintaining services to ensure data quality and consistency.
• Building and maintaining services and integrations to enable data transfer and synchronization between Emarsys and other systems.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to services and integrations.
• Collaborating with other teams to understand their data requirements and providing solutions to meet their needs.
• Working closely with the stakeholders to ensure that data is available and accessible.
• Generating solutions in terms of architecture and software design to have better services in performance and efficiency. 

You have:

• Experience in building scalable systems and applications using Ruby and/or TypeScript, ideally hosted on AWS
• Profound experience building serverless architectures, preferably with AWS Lambda and AWS API Gateway
• Strong understanding of Event-Driven Architecture
• Experience with NoSQL and SQL databases (DynamoDB/RDS/PostgreSQL)
• Strong sense for good API design and knowledge of third-party API integrations
• Knowledge of analyzing metrics about system health and performance (CloudWatch, PagerDuty, Rollbar)

Nice to have:

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and infrastructure automation, ideally with Terraform
• A great deal of experience in Github and Github Actions
• Good understanding of CRM providers (especially Emarsys)
