CoE Software Developer CORE (Gallarate, Hybrid)

The Center of Excellence Software Developer role represents a senior level technical competency in the fields of product and solution technical development. Center of Excellence encompasses both product and custom developed aspects of AVEVA-based solution.  As such, the COE-DEV is responsible for developing, testing, new product features and fixing application issues related to custom product and combined AVEVA solutions.  The COE-DEV represents the Practice Development Team leading up to build and maintain the Solutions delivered by the Customer Support Organization.  This engagement provides the Center of Excellence Developer with the opportunity to gather and retain code and programming expertise on the delivered solution.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our global CORE team to master the customer solutions.

  • Research, identify, develop and recommend program part to address new features and application issues identified in the field or in-house.

  • Help customers adopting new solutions, and address any potential technical problem escalated from the level 2 engineers

  • Assist Application Engineers with site-specific difficulties during new site commissioning as well as system upgrades and expansions.

  • Participate in power monitoring system development projects post release and in pilot to contributing providing information, executing test scenarios and typical use-cases, and participating in product development and testing, unit-tests.

  • Resolve technical problems from internal escalation about application engineers, and engineering teams.

  • Identify and qualify product and solution failures and assist on the engineering in understanding and resolving them.

  • Case tracking by entering cases either in our and Customer Relationship Management tool and Source repository (DEVOPS)

  • Contribute documenting of new solution features using our Knowledge Base tool.

  • Design, plan, research, evaluate and test complex systems used to monitor and/or control the program execution into the systems

  

Skills and qualifications:

Essential

  • Programming experience (Minimum 5 years desirable)

  • C#, HTML5 coding experience (Web Application)

  • Entity Framework /  .NET Core, Angular and Angular JS

  • SQL Database querying and programming experience

  • Experience in software, database and/or troubleshooting, diagnosis and problem solving

  • Positive attitude, enthusiastic, self-motivated and customer-focused

  • People-person and team player, enjoying the cross-functional interaction required for this position

  • Quick learner with an inquiring mind

  • Strong technical writing and oral communications skills in English language

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Ability to work with people with a wide range of technical backgrounds, including consultants, senior professional engineers, energy managers, developers, architects, team leaders, and personnel, account managers, sales personnel

  • Ability to occasionally travel to various customer sites in the region and worldwide

  • Bilingual: English and Spanish/French/Italian/German/Dutch an asset

Desirable 

  • Manufacturing Execution System experience (MES)

  • Understanding of SCADA and HMI standard

  • Engineering degree in Electrical, Power Systems or Computer Science, or equivalent

  • On-site or off-site advanced technical support experience

  • Knowledge of AVEVA products

  • Understanding of control systems and PLC

  • Controls or transformer protection experience         

  • Experience with CRM systems
