Cloud Network Engineer

About the Role:

The Cloud Network Engineer will be responsible for the company’s cloud networking implementation and network-related security deployments. This ranges from the engineering support and guidance of the Zscaler SSE suite of products, to the design, automation and deployment of AWS cloud network infrastructure, and to the integration of physical office location network technologies. From work-from-anywhere employees to cloud-based resource access, this role will make a significant impact on the way the company works every single day. Core responsibilities include designing our network architecture, ensuring that our network security requirements are maintained, and providing subject matter expertise to groups within the organization.

Day to Day:

• Manage the implementation, monitoring and operations of various Zscaler technologies (to include ZIA, ZPA, ZDX, Client/App/Cloud Connector, Firewall, CASB, DLP, Advanced Threat Protection, SSL Inspection, URL Filtering, SIPA)
• Design, automation, and deployment of AWS cloud network infrastructure
• Small office network management of Internet, firewalling, routing/switching/vlan and Wi-Fi
• Provide network architecture support for design decisions
• Migrate legacy systems into the company infrastructure
• Field all network critical issues
• Support security operations processes by monitoring and reviewing anomalies related to devices and identities
• Effectively work with the Service Desk team on end-user network issues
• Actively participate in resolving high-priority outages, troubleshooting efforts, and capacity/availability planning sessions
• Develop and maintain technical documentation
• Ensure that all processes used by the Engineering Team are thoroughly documented, consistently audited, and regularly improved
• Communicate and collaborate with IT, Information Security, and other business organizations to meet customer and compliance requirements
• Drive continuous improvement and modernization leveraging cloud services and automation

What you bring to the table:

• BA/BS degree in Engineering/CS or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated ability in Networking field
• Experience with relevant AWS cloud technologies
• Hands-on experience with administration of Zscaler or equivalent Security Service Edge technology
• General understanding of how IAM / SCIM provisioning works to provide permissions and manage the user lifecycle in destination applications
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong work ethic that is self-motivated and proactive

It would be great if you also had:

• Terraform/CloudFormation proficiency
• Experience with related applications (Okta, JAMF, Intune, Elastic, CloudGuard, etc.)
• Experience with the Atlassian platform
• Knowledge of ITIL Service Management
