Job Description:

JOB TITLE:          Sr. System Engineer

JOB LOCATION: 208 S. Akard Street, Dallas, TX 75202 [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home]

DUTIES:   Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to manage technical implementations. Provide technical knowledge to application teams through the complexity of a clad migration knocking down roadblocks, driving POCs, and implementing solutions to problems. Apply in-depth expertise in diverse cloud applications, data tiers, networks, security, infrastructure technologies, cloud modernization, migrations principles, processes, and standards. Enable applications scheduled for modernization to re-platform, refactor, re-architect, and migrate to public cloud with minimal impact. Drive key modernization deliverables around modernization assessments, technical design, modernization solution implementation, analysis, and consolation. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for application build and deploy work in the Microsoft Azure Public Cloud, creating Azure DevOps CD Pipelines and executing pipelines using Terraform Infrastructure as Code (IaC).  Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of built app environments in Azure Public Cloud.  Perform build and deploy activities for both IaaS and PaaS Public Cloud models including IaaS Database environments (Oracle, SQL Server) and PaaS Database environments (PostgreSQL).

REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience in a related occupation applying in-depth expertise in diverse cloud applications, data tiers, networks, security, infrastructure technologies, cloud modernization, migrations principles, processes, and standards; enabling applications scheduled for modernization to re-platform, refactor, re-architect, and migrate to public cloud with minimal impact; and driving key modernization deliverables around modernization assessments, technical design, modernization solution implementation, analysis, and consolation;  Microsoft Azure Administration and DevOps experience as the position serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for build and deploy work in the Microsoft Azure Public Cloud.  Position requires expert-level experience in Azure DevOps (ADO), Terraform, IaaS and PaaS implementations, Azure Monitor, Insights, and performance tuning; and applying understanding of Public Cloud networking is required for implementation of network interfaces using Domain Name Services (DNS) and Azure Private Endpoints (PLS & PE).
