About the Job:

As a Performance Test Architect who is passionate about seeing customers succeed and ensuring best-in-class product quality. The objective of the role is End-to-End ownership of Performance testing of the product and be the custodian of product quality. With the Digital Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to join a fast-growing team that is embarking on a multi-year implementation as part of an on-going digital modernization effort. As the project team ramps up, you will have the chance to help define and shape the vision of how the solution will be maintained and monitored to meet the business’ needs.

Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View

  • Need to drive a project and assume ownership of Performance team deliverables.

  • Design robust Performance Test Strategies that will validate impact of changes to performance of individual applications as well as the consumer technology ecosystem.

  • Collaborate with Development, Project Managers and Solution Architects to design application tests to validate performance and resiliency of the consumer technology ecosystem.

  • Participate and provide recommendations for ensure Performance is built into the design of a solution. This enables early identification/remediation of issues/defects before the development phase. Drive detailed performance and final summary report.

  • Work closely with Vendor/Partner teams for execution of load tests based on software delivery/release schedule.

  • Proven ability to build strong, cohesive partnerships with the business, operations, technology & other key stakeholders, including external vendor partners, and work effectively in a matrix organization.

  • Reporting and escalating issues related to application or commitment risks to stakeholders.

  • Identify/Propose Framework & tools for Performance.

  • Able to articulate, flag and communicate risk to the business.

  • Jenkins and Pipeline setup for performance testing along with DevOps team

  • Performing Workload Characterization and defining the workload mix and targets from analytics.

  • Estimation to driving the definition of the test cases supporting the testing of NFRs.

  • Lead the meetings with NFR Lead and Ability to drive any kind of discussion on technical topics.

  • Train and coach other performance testers

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of strong hands-on experience and technical depth in one, or more technology areas, including software engineering, solution architecture, production operations, distributed technologies, performance engineering, resiliency/chaos engineering, or SaaS/cloud-based ecosystems.

  • Good hands-on experience on Performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)

  • Expert in Analysis tools like (App Dynamics, Dynatrace, Grafana and Splunk)

  • Hands-on experience in tools such as Fiddler, Quantum Metrics, Exe Tool, Heap Analyzer, Google Dev Tools, Core Web Vitals, ELK.

  • Some programming experience in one or more languages (scripting/functional/imperative -- C/C++, Java, Python, Scala, R, SQL, etc.) would be advantages but not required.

  • Experience in following technologies; Kubernetes Container, CI/CD, Jenkins, Chaos Testing, Performance Testing; Salesforce, Azure, AWS

  • Working knowledge of infrastructure components (e.g., routers, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage, and networks).

  • Knowledge of application architecture concepts, including topology, protocols, components, and principles would be advantageous.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to think strategically about how to create firm wide solutions to business requirements and ability to communicate effectively to both business and technical audiences.

  • Ability to orchestrate and drive complex strategies and solutions, utilizing superior analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience using various tools and technologies such as ADO, JIRA, Confluence, GitHub.

  • In-Depth knowledge of software and hardware optimization.

  • Knowledge of UNIX/Linux Operating System

  • Good to have Telecom and CRM UI, Middleware and Message Bus Domain Exposure

Our Senior System Engineering earns between $116,700.00-$175,100.00 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
