Director, DevOps / SRE

About the role:

The Director will lead our team of highly skilled DevOps / SRE engineers, delivering cutting edge, large scale cloud infrastructure that is leveraged by our data science, data platform and application platform teams. You will be leading a team responsible for all infrastructure security, CI/CD pipelines, ML Ops platforms, numerous datastores, kubernetes clusters etc upon which 10’s of millions of medical charts are processed yearly with web applications delivering medical insights to our customers.

What you will do:

• Build and manage DevOps team, including hiring, coaching, and mentoring team members
• Provide direct ongoing leadership and coaching for teams of individual contributors designing and developing new products, updates and enhancements
• Drive security objectives with measurable key results throughout the organization and obtain support from external stakeholders
• Identify tactical and strategic opportunities to improve service health, performance, reliability, and telemetry
• Communicate project status and escalate issues to direct managers, program managers, and executive sponsors
• Assist team in delivering an automated CI/CD pipeline with automated tests, deploys, monitors, and alarms
• Assist in building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code
• Ensure the on time delivery and coordination of DevOps initiatives
• Create roadmaps and planning artifacts for DevOps improvements
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and organizational efficiency
• Contribute to project work
• Grow a highly effective DevOps team

What you bring to the table:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a DevOps / SRE Manager or Lead in an agile environment
• Minimum 5+ years experience as a DevOps / SRE Engineer
• Exposure and familiarity with Agile & SRE principles, automated deployments and build pipelines
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects

After 3 months you will have accomplished:

• Understanding of our current infrastructure architecture and how the pieces fit together 
• Familiarity with tooling used by the team to accomplish tasks 
• A good working relationship with your internal “customers”
• Identified areas of potential improvement 
• Earnt the trust of the team to be able to guide them forward
• Knowledge of the current infrastructure and product roadmaps to understand future requirements
