How will you make an impact in this role?

We are scaling our mission-critical, federated GraphQL platform that powers our customer experiences globally.

Whether the customer is online using our JD Power award-winning web and mobile applications, on the phone with our legendary Customer Care Professionals, or chatting with us through Alexa, our GraphQL platform will provide all the data and functionality needed at the point of customer contact. Fast, secure, real-time, and seamlessly integrated.

As a Staff Architect (Data) you will:

• Own the overall domain and data model blueprints for the platform
• Partner with domain architects and engineers to help them design their data in line with your blueprints
• Provide data governance oversight, ensuring that the platform evolves in line with enterprise data standards  policies
• Lead a small team of 1 - 3 data architects, fostering a culture of inclusion and innovation, and coaching your team members to reach their full potential
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, product partners, and cross-functional technology teams
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related disciplines; or equivalent career experience
• Expertise in systems design and API design
• Expertise in data modelling (conceptual, logical and physical)
• scalable, low latency, resilient applications and services in Kotlin, Java or Javascript. 
• Software engineering background. Ability to read and, ideally, contribute to code (Java, Kotlin or Javascript)

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in data engineering.
• Expertise in modern software development practices such as Domain-Driven Design, and technical architectures such as hybrid cloud
