 Senior Engineering Manager are responsible for: 

  • Leading teams and Owning all technical aspects of software development for assigned applications; performing hands-on architecture, design, and development of systems 
  • Driving consistent development practices, tools, and common components
  • Developing deep understanding of tie-ins with other systems and platforms, and supporting those teams on their own modernization journeys 
  • Identifying opportunities to adopt new technologies to solve existing needs and predicting future challenges
  • Collaborating with the cross functional teams to identify the opportunities for improvements and optimizations and Derive solutions with Enterprise thinking
  • 80% of the time spent on coding and/or hands-on technical implementation 
  • Work with Staff Architects to define solution requirements and technical implementation approach.
  • Drive both high-level and detailed technical designs and conduct design reviews as needed 
  • Provide technical mentorship to other software engineers at all levels 
  • Implement new, highly scalable platform components 
  • Improve and maintain existing components of the core platform 
  • Actively participate in team and company-wide architecture and engineering discussions and forums 
  • Employ technical expertise to help team members overcome technical problems 
  • Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software for use in local, networked, cloud-based or Internet-related environments 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the end to end solution strategy, and delivery for assigned applications
  • Perform hands-on design, and development of systems
  • Participate in Solution management discussions to drive solutions for the Enterprise.
  •  Define a framework comprised of guidelines, processes, tools, and loosely coupled reusable components, to support quality of data for all interfaces, system & feeds
  • Ability to solution and implement onto the processes quickly for the team. 
  • Perform rapid Pilot/POCs to experiment various engineering optimization and inner-sourcing techniques
  • Function as senior member of an agile team and helps drive consistent development practices w.r.t. tools, common components, and documentation
  • Ability to identify cross functional architecture and engineering re-usable opportunities
  • Optimize the current architecture and code base for various enterprise applications
  • Support engineers in rapid development and deployment by re-designing & revamping the current code base to more global, composable and modularized code
  • Provide guiding principles and partner with multi-functional product teams for proactive maintenance of the critical data assets owned by their respective business functions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Computer Science or equivalent degree with minimum of 9+ years of work experience designing, developing large scale applications
  • Should have software design and development experience, with a deep focus on the development of API driven interactions
  • Experience in Full Stacj technologies with a thorough understanding of Java. Good understanding of Spring Boot, JPA2, JMS, Spring Batch, Junit. Experience in Reactjs/Angular, Javascript. 
  • Should have worked on REST API design and implementation. 
  • Expertise in objected-oriented analysis and design across a variety of platforms. Accustomed to microservices concepts. 
  • Exposure to testing and automation capabilities such as mocking frameworks, JUNIT, Jenkins, Git, Stash, JIRA. Should have implemented or worked on Continues Integration and Continues Delivery. 
  • Expertise in building fault-tolerant, scalable solutions that are performed at a global enterprise scale 
  • Full understanding of Service Oriented Architecture design principles and implementation patterns 
  • High energy, A proven hunger to learn new technologies and translate them into working software. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate to internal and external business partners on solution design.
  • Able to learn new technologies and able to guide team to perform POCs using the new tech stack
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
  •  Looks proactively beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Self-starter with a strong affinity for driving change, demonstrated decision-making skill and ability
  • Demonstrated thought leadership skills and ability to develop winning strategies
