AMD together we advance_ SENIOR SOFTWARE SYSTEMS DESIGNER    THE ROLE:   We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Software Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. Your peers will provide you a results-oriented and encouraging environment for your career growth, fueling your opportunity to be a part of Delighting Our Customers. As a senior member of the team, taking initiative in mentoring to achieve the team’s goal of on time delivery is expected.    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:   You will be responsible for the automation of the test suites that ensure enterprise quality for AMD’s Software Compute stack Supporting automated testing in an environment that utilizes Linux/UNIX and Windows including but not limited to functional, usability, security, network, compatibility, and regression testing Documenting and training on the new platform and related processes, technologies, tools, and features Translation and mapping of automation requirements with test plans Automation and testing knowledge management – including training plans for the creation of automation test procedures and related standards, maintenance procedures and configurations Analyzing crash logs, stack trace, faults by utilizing basic debugging techniques Proactively drive continuous improvement to improve the quality of automated testing and related coverage Drive technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities across product development and validation, including software tools and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional initiatives.   Lead collaborative approaches with multiple teams.  Mentor others to achieve integrated projects. Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:   Product development or systems engineering background with hardware platforms and their software & firmware ecosystems Automation Framework development Understanding of Linux (must), Windows Sever (a plus) System internals and server system architecture Familiarity with various deployment models including cloud, virtualization, and containers Experience in automation, Orchestration, Delivery via one or all solutions: Kubernetes, Docker, Mesos Solid knowledge of Python, OOPS concepts, Shell/BASH and debugging skills Knowledge of SQL Experience working with: Jira, Confluence, Git, Gerrit Knowledge of GPU and CPU pipeline, parallelism, cache and other performance factors Excellent verbal communication and written, presentation skills Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, planning, and technical leadership skills Proven record of accomplishment in delivering large multi-functional product solutions Experience working in a fast-paced matrixed technical organization and multi-site environment  Detailed oriented; ability to multitask through planning/organizing.     ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:   Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer/Electronics/Electrical/Communication Engineering or equivalent  #LI-LV1 Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
