Performance tooling is a first class feature-set on our platform. We're looking for a Senior Back End Engineer to join our small and nimble team. For this position, we’re open to non-traditional engineering candidates with an aptitude for data and analytics, including mathematics, finance and economic majors. 

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with our product and engineering team to craft analytic and performance tooling for Financial Advisors and their clients
  • Design, build, and optimize data ingestion infrastructure and implement features focused on data visualization and insights
  • Write and optimize calculations to produce consistent and accurate performance reporting metrics and insights

What You’ll Bring

  • Excellent analytical skills, an aptitude for data visualizations, and a data-driven approach to engineering 
  • 3+ years of building scalable RESTful backend services, preferably in Java and/or Python
  • Adept in database design, query access patterns and database performance
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, Postgres), data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift), and in-memory databases (Redis)
  • Implement on-demand and scheduled ETL jobs using job orchestration tools (Airflow, Springbatch)
  • Comfortable with service observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus/Grafana/ELK)
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD and Deployment tools including Jenkins, Docker, Container Orchestration Tools (Kubernetes) and Cloud Technologies (AWS)

Bonus Points

  • Strong domain knowledge of financial services and/or data analytics 
  • Experience integrating with third-party financial providers, performance visualization libraries (ChartJS, Highcharts)

For this role, our anticipated base salary range is $158,000 - $203,000. Total compensation also includes a competitive and benefits package along with equity in the form of Stock Options (ISOs). A salary offer will be determined by a number of factors including experience, skill level, internal pay equity, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations. We review all teammate pay and compensation programs regularly to ensure fair, equitable, and competitive pay.
