Senior Software Engineer – QA and Automation

Location: India, Remote

Summary:

Do you like breaking things? Do you like to write the code that can break the code? Alkira is expanding its QA and Automation team, and looking for Engineers with a wide range of experiences who can help deliver a world class product.

Responsibilities:

• Work in a fast paced team to solve important customer problems
• Work closely with product development and engineering teams to understand testing requirements
• Develop, execute and automate feature test plans to validate product capabilities
• Build and maintain automation scripts required to ensure quality via continuous functional regression
• Collaborate with development teams to identify, report, and resolve issues found during testing
• Analyze any customer-found defects, identify the test gaps and ensure they are covered in regression.
• Design and develop automation framework
• Contribute to a culture of constant innovation and continuous improvement
• Participate in product documentation reviews
• Build in-depth knowledge of Alkira’s Cloud Networking Platform
  

Requirements:

• 4-12 years of experience in highly technical roles in QA and automation
• Experience with networking product testing
• Good understanding of management, control and data plane architecture in networking products
• Hands-on experience with standard TCP/IP protocols such as ARP, IP, ICMP, TCP & UDP
• Good knowledge and experience in networking protocols  like BGP, IPSec
• Experience and good domain knowledge with cloud-based deployments (AWS/Azure/GCP experience preferred).
• Excellent knowledge and hands-on with Python
• Experience with RESTful APIs
• Experience with firewalls or SD-WAN devices is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to quickly grasp new concepts
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Good to have:
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies - QEMU/KVM, VMWare ESXi, Containers like Docker
  • Familiarity with network virtualization technologies such as SDN, Overlay Protocols(VxLAN), DPDK and VNF
  • Excellent networking knowledge - CCIE/JNCIE/CCNP/JNCIP/CCNA/JNCIA Certifications is a plus
