AlayaCare are seeking a Senior PHP Developer with experience across PHP & SQL to join our Technical Services team, providing technical mentoring for team members.

About the role

 

Reporting to our Integration & Exports Services Manager, this role will focus on generating complex custom exports available from within the app on demand to customer specifications (using PHP and SQL). The Senior PHP Developer will work as part of the Technical Services team, who are our small resident team of technical experts.

 

More specifically, you will be completing tasks such as: 

 

• Develop complex custom exports in PHP and SQL according to customer specifications, demonstrating expertise in coding and database management
• Provide technical mentoring for team members
• Spearhead the unit tests to ensure the reliability and robustness of codebase
• Execute manual sanity checks of developed reports, leveraging advanced analytical skills to identify potential issues and discrepancies
• Perform tests of data export format on local dev environment and in Staging or UAT environment
• Take charge of deploying code to production and other environments across multiple regions, ensuring smooth and efficient releases with minimal downtime
• Utilise industry knowledge and business acumen to provide strategic guidance to both internal teams and customers, driving more effective reporting solutions
• Understanding the underlying data structure and being able to suggest efficiencies and improvements
• Working and collaborating with other departments (Dev Ops etc) to achieve desired outcomes
• Making (minimal changes) in Vue JS front end to support reporting needs
• Supporting the Client Services team, Support team and Customer Relation team with customer exports.

 

What we're looking for in a Senior PHP Developer;

 

• Software development, computer science qualification or equivalent experience
• 3+ years relevant experience from which you have an understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• 2+ years working in a report development role.
• Advanced ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines.
• Advanced PHP skills (3 - 5 years).
• Intermediate SQL skills (1- 2 years).
• Intermediate Python skills (1-2 years)
• Some exposure to/experience with Vue JS
• Intermediate understanding and proficiency in Software development project tools - Jira, Git, Confluence.
• Intermediate knowledge of database principles and technologies.
• Basic customer service skills – dealing with customers to understand their report requirements, managing expectations.
• Intermediate communication skills – talk about technical concepts with non-technical people (e.g. clients)
• Advanced problem-solving skills – fix bugs in reports, find solutions to customer report requirements.
• Advanced accountability – organise self, track work to be done, work towards and meet deadlines.
• Flexible work style – you’re able to collaborate across teams and work independently.
• A thirst for knowledge and the ability to adapt quickly.

 

It would be a bonus if you also have:

• Experience working with SaaS products.
• Knowledge of and experience with the aged and disability care sector.
