In order to support our information management team, we at Airbus Aerostructures are looking for a Lead Java Developer - PLM (d/f/m)

You will join our information management team to provide reliable CAD & PLM applications for Airbus Aerostructures, related to aircraft design & configuration management. You will become the accountable lead developer for development and customization of our Windchill based PLM system. Your internal customers will be our engineering, manufacturing engineering and production communities, more than 5000 active users. You will work closely together with our IT product owners, system architects and business analysts.

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities

• You will set up a CI/CD pipeline for different PLM use cases.

• You will assemble and edit source code repositories.

• You will steer the design and development and customization of PLM applications, including user interfaces, APIs and data services.

• You will ensure consistent documentation.

• You will coordinate functional and technical integration.

• You will set coding standard and engage in open source initiatives.

• You will review and merge incoming source code.

• You will participate in all phases of product development lifecycle, from the analysis, design over test and integration to operation of products.

• You will define test strategies, scripts, scenarios and monitor test execution.

Desired skills and qualifications

• You hold a university degree or a similar qualification.

• You bring several years of professional experience as Senior Java J2EE software developer in the context of PLM in an industrial production environment.

• You bring a proven performance as a technical lead in agile projects.

• You have broad and deep knowledge in the following areas:

  • SQL queries, database procedures

  • Spring and Hibernate frameworks

  • DevOps, CI/CD Continuous Integration, test automation and automated deployment 

  • API (REST, preferably also OpenAPI, Graphql and gRPC)

  • Git

• PTC Windchill orThingworx architecture experience or related software development is a big plus.

• You are willing to work in virtual teams and ideally already bring some experience in doing so.

• You are fluent in English and proficient in German.
