Job Description:
Airbus R&T in the wing perimeter has focused a lot in the past years on the structural and industrial aspects, resulting in the Wing of Tomorrow concepts and ground prototypes.
eXtra performance WING, an Airbus UpNext demonstrator, is using disruptive wing technologies focusing on wing performance and need acceleration or feasibility demonstration. Our purpose is to fly a remote controlled business jet, flying subsonic, at classical Airbus aircraft altitudes, with a scaled wing heavily instrumented.
The opportunity of a Multisystems Design/Test Engineer (m/f) has risen within the team eXtra performance WING.
It consists of a contract on an estimated 2 year long project (CDI-C), preferably based in Cazaux or in Toulouse with very regular traveling to Cazaux where the ground and flight tests will take place in 2025 and 2026.
Missions
You will work within the Overall Systems Design team, mainly for the remote control systems (autonomy) perimeter and your responsibilities will be:
Lead autonomy system interfaces development:
Define and Implement electrical design changes regarding autonomy systems interfaces (SID, Functional Diagrams, …)
Lead data concentration systems (A-FCDC, EIU) development with the Supplier
Contribute to the definition and performing of tests for the autonomy systems interfaces verification on the Hardware in the loop test bench.
Define and perform tests for the remote ground control station functional verification.
Define and perform ground tests for the remote systems interfaces and operations of the A/C systems
Support definition of flight tests for remote controlled systems operations
Support remote systems operations, maintenance and troubleshooting
The tasks may evolve during the course of the project, so being flexible is important.
Your Boarding Pass:
At least 5 years experience in the systems design, development and testing
Experience mainly in avionics and communications systems
Experience in testing on the A/C
A good understanding of systems interfaces and management
Able to take initiatives to propose simpler and efficient ways of working
Have good skills in practical problem solving
Autonomy, Adaptability, Availability, Accountability
Enjoying working in an international, diverse and geographically located team
Sharing the values of transparency, courage, humility, empathy
English and French are mandatory
Eager to step out of the comfort zone
Willing to have fun
The candidate will be required to work very closely with various other teams, like FTI, industrial and A/C manager.
