Job Description

What your new role will entail;

AECOM are currently looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to work on our joint venture Caledonia Water Alliance where we have teamed up with Morrison Water Services to deliver Scottish Water’s SR21 Water and Wastewater Infrastructure programme. You will be responsible for the following;

• Provide technical expertise to support the Design Lead in all aspects of civil projects from design to implementation, ensuring compliance with Scottish Water\ Water Industry Specifications
• Carry out site visits, non-intrusive surveys and inspection assessment
• Feasibility assessment of engineering infrastructure 
• Prepare/ check design approach, calculations, drawings and technical reports with due cognisance to SW Specification & Standards and in accordance with CDM Health & Safety procedures that are reviewed by the Design Lead, to support the Design & Build of Major Project Water civil infrastructure
• Supervise and mentor less experienced or junior engineers
• Liaise with construction delivery team & contribute to providing solutions to challenges that arise during the construction process
• Client & third party engagement/ liaison to obtain relevant technical consents as part of the engineering process
• Keep up to date with industry best practice and where appropriate identify innovation/best practice for consideration
• Comply with CWA Quality Assurance procedures

Being part of the team;

You will be key to the Water Major Projects programme for our client, Scottish Water designing large diameter pipelines, pumping stations and strategic resilience projects through our SR21 water infrastructure framework across Scotland.

You will be part of a diverse team of around 20x Civil Engineers and CAD Technicians, with support from specialist Designers from within the AECOM and CWA communities.

We promote staff development and progression, and there are many development opportunities within CWA. CWA offers a unique opportunity to deliver the full project cycle, from concept design through to detailed design, and delivery!

The role will be based in Stepps, which is only a 5-minute walk from the train station, and local shops/café’s and there’s also parking provided too!

Qualifications

Here's what we will need from you;

• BSc or BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Obtained or working towards chartership with membership of an applicable institution.
• A background in engineering design in water company infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets including the civil design and specification
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Water infrastructure.
  • Pumping stations and pressure pipelines.
  • Clean water network design.
