Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. has multiple openings for a Project Manager II to be based in Orange, CA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the site and facility planning comply with applicable laws, codes, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform a variety of special projects as directed and visit sites.
  • Research, apply and maintain current knowledge of laws, codes, rules, and regulations related to assigned activities.
  • Perform analysis and create reports using Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Bluebeam, and Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software.
  • Assist in analyzing projections and capacities to evaluate needs for planning.
  • Review and update site Master Plans.
  • Update and maintain School Site Plan Drawings, Boundary Maps, District demographic data, and other surveys.
  • Work with school sites to update emergency evacuation plans and related facilities information.
  • Develop maps and reports based on graphical information.
  • Provide project coordination and management support to department activities and projects.
  • Manage one or more moderately complex projects.
  • May manage all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).
  • Review planning documents for compliance with contract requirements and quality of technical content.
  • Perform technical quality reviews, including documentation and project record following policies and procedure. Identify stakeholder problems and opportunities in particular areas that could be mitigated through planning.
  • Maintain data for long-range and short range planning.
  • Review, analyze and make recommendations for professional services contracts.
  • Assist in performing fiscal analysis related to planning projects, construction accounting, budgeting, invoicing, and payment requests.
  • Serve as a liaison between client personnel and other stakeholders regarding project activities, including planning, scheduling, and overall project status.
  • Attend various meetings, conferences, governmental hearings as assigned.
  • Prepare and deliver oral presentations to the public and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Client's consultants to produce quality documents for agency review.
  • May telecommute.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Architecture, Urban Design, Construction Management, Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a project management-related occupation. OR Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Architecture, Urban Design, Construction Management, Engineering or related field 0 years of experience.

Position Requires:

  1. Experience performing technical analysis to assimilate project information, preparing project plans and scheduling;
  2. Interpreting technical architectural and engineering drawings and details;
  3. Reading, interpreting, and providing recommendations to technical specifications;
  4. Bluebeam, Revit, Project Information Systems or advanced excel skills;
  5. Technical knowledge of Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing disciplines to conduct formal design reviews and value engineering sessions with various consultants;
  6. Review and comment on code related items within the plans and specifications;
  7. Perform statistical analysis to produce project recommendations; and
  8. Conducting research within the technical field of architecture and planning.
