The Opportunity

As a Senior Data Engineer ,you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of our data infrastructure. You will work with massive datasets, develop & optimize data pipelines, and ensure data availability, reliability, and performance. Your expertise in Spark, Python, SQL, and data optimization will be instrumental in our mission to leverage data for business insights. Our engineering team is custodian of A.com web data entrusted with the responsibility of managing vast volumes of data with high velocity, creating multiple DataMarts, enabling seamless aggregation and analysis of data for strategic purposes like GTM and SEO initiatives.

What you'll Do

• Accountable for enhancing and delivering high quality data products and analytics ready data solutions
• Working with stakeholders to define the overall strategy for the BU’s data products and new features. This involves understanding business goals, identifying data sources and determining the appropriate technology stack and building enhancements
• Developing and implementing data engineering pipelines/solutions that support the organization’s business needs. This may involve working with various technologies, including data warehouses, data lake, data marts and APIs
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines that process and transform petabytes of data efficiently
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design and implement data models that support analytical needs.
• Optimize data pipelines, algorithms, and data storage to improve performance and scalability.
• Implement and enforce data governance practices, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Set up monitoring systems to proactively identify and address data pipeline issues, ensuring data availability and reliability
• Develop Python scripts and applications for data processing, data quality checks, and automation.
• Close partnering with Enterprise Data and Analytics team and other cross-functional teams to shape and adopt data and technology strategies

What you need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• 6-10 years of hands on experience working with large scale data, developing and implementing data capabilities and innovative data solutions in a cloud environment
• Strong proficiency in Apache Spark, Python, and SQL.
• Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration.
• Ability to optimize and tune data pipelines for performance and scalability.
• Knowledge of data modeling and database design.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with any cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Experience in Databricks with Azure is a bonus.
