About the role

We are looking for a Release Engineer to help us review the current release process at Ada and reimagine how we release things to the world so that the process delights our engineers internally while ensuring that all regulatory and quality requirements are met.  This will require system thinking skills, an understanding of release automation, and a solid understanding of the SDLC process. Interacting with all stakeholders, from engineers to regulatory, fostering collaborative relationships while improving processes and speed of releases at Ada.

Your role involves leveraging your expertise in system thinking, release automation, and a comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Effective collaboration with stakeholders, ranging from technical experts to regulatory authorities, is essential to optimize our release procedures and expedite processes at Ada.

What you'll do

  • Comprehensive System Understanding: Acquire in-depth knowledge of Ada's Quality Management System, ensuring familiarity with procedures, processes, and documentation artefacts crucial to the release process. Maintain ongoing alignment with stakeholders.
  • Agile Process Improvement: Employ an agile project approach to identify, align, and prioritize enhancements within the release processes, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate closely with development teams, product owners, QA, regulatory teams, and project management to gather essential data and facilitate continual improvement in the release process.
  • Automation Integration: Identify and implement automation in routine and manual processes, such as integrating automation between Jira, Github, and CI/CD tools to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate release plans, progress, and achievements to ensure increased visibility and seamless adoption of changes among relevant teams.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Assess and mitigate potential risks associated with the release process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Implement post-release monitoring and documentation for continuous improvement.

What you'll bring

  • Experience as an IT specialist in system integration or comparable
  • Demonstrate several years of hands-on experience in process automation, release management, and automation of regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Preferred experience in software development and application management, showcasing a solid understanding of these domains.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and proficiency in release, configuration, and change management.
  • Display practical knowledge and hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, emphasizing a collaborative and iterative approach to development.
  • Showcase in-depth release and deployment management expertise with a continuous commitment to optimization and efficiency improvement.
  • Approach responsibilities with a structured and analytical mindset while possessing strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Desirable hands-on knowledge and experience in Medical Device Regulation, including IEC 62304, 82304, and ISO 13485 standards requirements.
