Sr. Software Engineer, Backend (Customer 360)

The Team You’ll Join:

As a member of the “Customer 360” team, you will report to the Sr Manager, Engineering. You will play a cornerstone role throughout the life of a project by engaging in ideation and brainstorming, collaborating on design requirements and product decisions, and establishing milestones for the team to deliver on. We strive for quick development iterations to continuously gather feedback, as well as remain flexible to handle unforeseen edge cases. Once delivered, effective automated tests and just the right amount of telemetry data will ensure the feature is functioning as planned, so you can sit back, measure product success, and incorporate your learnings into the next one.

How You'll Contribute:

• Design and create new services and their topologies. 
• Build software in a distributed microservices environment
• Standardize and refine our HTTP APIs. How REST-y is too REST-y? Do you have a favorite set of APIs for inspiration? 
• Design ways to improve the testing strategy. What is the ideal combination of unit and functional tests to enable developer productivity while also preventing bugs?

What You Bring:

• 3+ years of experience in a product-focused engineering role
• Experience working in an agile team environment
• Experience with Remote Procedure Call (RPC) frameworks such as Apache Thrift OR stream processing tools like Spark or Kafka. 
• Experience working in an agile team environment
• Experience with SQL databases
• You seek constant learning and improvement for yourself and your peers

Compensation and Benefits

• Our compensation package includes base salary, stock options, and the great benefits shown below. 
• The salary range for this role is:  $185,000 - $210,000
