Software Engineer

Position Overview: 

Do you love building ⚙️ products people love? The ideal candidate for our Software Engineer position will have a strong understanding of the Java programming language. They will be able to demonstrate skills in developing, maintaining, and unit testing microservices. They would also be comfortable with CI/CD deployment, Docker containers, as well as the Amazon Web Service platform. This candidate should be capable of using these skills to develop quality services that are of backbone of a commerce solution that is responsible for handling millions of dollars in company revenue. They would also have a desire to be a dedicated teammate by encouraging their fellow engineers and speaking up during meetings in an effort to make our services the best and the most solid and secure they can be.

Location: This role offers 100% remote flexibility anywhere in the US!

Reports to: Manager, Platform Engineering

What you’ll be working on: 

• Developing and maintaining Java microservices 
• Collaborating with other engineering teams that consume our APIs 
• Ownership of the full lifecycle of services, including deployment and operation in production  
• Participating in daily stand-ups and sprint planning sessions as part of our Agile development process 
• Preparedness to code, collaborate and contribute

What you bring to the role: 

• Have 3+ years of related work experience in Java

• Experience with relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL), including writing complex SQL queries 
• A strong grasp of OO programming principles 
• Familiarity with XML and JSON 
• Experience writing unit tests for Java applications 
• You enjoy solving challenging problems on a global scale 
• Take pride in the code that you write - quality first! 
• Are willing to embrace an AGILE development methodology

• Previous eCommerce and/or ticketing industry experiences 
• Experience/comfortability working in a Linux environment
