Position Summary

As Software Development Engineer (Java), you would be working with clients, primarily game studios, designing, advising, and building the next generation of their online web service platform that is highly scalable, secure, and available using Java and cloud technologies. Some travel is required for this position to client locations.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

The Software Development Engineer (Java) is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities:

• Maintain existing source code
• Design, develop, and implements new and existing features with software engineering best practice in mind
• Documents the solutions in form of documentation
• Provide support for technical questions either for client or peers
• Troubleshooting and debugging in multiple environments. Dev, staging, and production.
• Research for new methods and technologies
• Improve performance of the applications/services
• Working closely with client and teammates or peers across the team for feature integration
• Perform any other duties as required

Qualifications/Experience Required:

• 2+ years in writing Java.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience developing web services in the cloud.
• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Solid JVM performance and troubleshooting skills.
• Solid security best practices.
• Strong computer science and engineering background.
• Forward-thinking and up to date on current and emerging architecture patterns.
• Able to work with clients under tight deadlines, and on distributed teams with fluid requirements
• Flexibility in working with people with different timezones

Qualifications/Experience Preferred:

• Extensive designing services in AWS for millions of users
• AAA game studio experience
• Knowledge in Linux
