Senior Software Engineer - Backend

About the Role

Abnormal Security is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join the Multi-Product Platform (MPP) team. The MPP team builds the infrastructure, services, and features like the Marketplace and Deployment Dashboard to form the platform that enables the creation and launch of new products.  This role will start by owning customer integrations and supporting platform development and will move into ownership of specific features, services, and infrastructure systems. • Well-rounded and can switch contexts between building frontend UI components and backend APIs

• Know what it takes to be successful working with remote collaborators and stakeholders, and are experienced with remote management
• Detail driven and care about code quality, testing, and performance

• You bring up ambiguities  and clarify decisions with leadership instead of improvising solutions on the go

What you will do: 

• Work on production systems to stabilize and improve existing features
• Collaborate with engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to define, build, test, launch, and support new product features
• Responsible for both development and testing of software
• Collaborate with Customer Support and Sales Engineering organization on production issues and sales solutions
• Provide code reviews for other engineers to catch bugs & problems before they make it into production
• Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

Must Have Skills:

• 7+ years of stack Backend Web Development experience in Backend languages and Frameworks (Python/Django, Golang).
• 4+ years of production support experience for enterprise-class customers
• At least 3 years of system design experience
• Proven experience owning testing as well as the development of all software solutions
• Proven experience working with agile development methodologies (both scrum and kanban)
• Proven experience working effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple timezones with remote stakeholders
• BS degree in Computer Science or related engineering field

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with Airflow, Celery, AWS and/or Azure, Postgres
• Experience with API platform development
• Experience with Go
