The Agile Project Manager leads cross-functional teams to provide agile-based project delivery and facilitates the team's work to accelerate delivery of business value by ensuring adherence to Scrum methodologies and processes. Leads the project team through all phases of the Software Development process. Identifies and drives implementation of continuous improvements within the project team. Proactively identifies and helps to resolve issues that impact achievement of team sprint commitments. Regularly reports overall project status to management and key stakeholders, escalating major issues as necessary. Ensures the team is fully functional, cooperating, and productive. Facilitates internal and external communication, removes impediments, and serves as the liaison between multiple stakeholders, delivery managers, and project team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Administers Agile processes: facilitates day-to-day processes to include Daily Scrum Stand-up meetings, Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives. Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency and radiating information. Reports on sprint metrics, bug/incident tracking, and capacity.
  • Maintaining delivery momentum: facilitates the delivery flow of teams at scale, managing the pace and tempo. Able to actively address internal and external risks, issues and dependencies including where ownership exists outside the team. Able to provide delivery confidence.
  • Customer focus and stakeholder alignment: work closely with business stakeholders to ensure their requirements are fulfilled timely and our team supports the overall business growth in the organization. Able to listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and interpret them. Able to manage stakeholders’ expectations and be flexible, can communicate proactively and reactively.
  • Planning: understands the environment and can prioritize the most important or highest value work (capabilities, features, stories, incidents, problems). Able to use data to inform planning. Able to remove blockers or impediments that affect the roadmap and can develop a plan for difficult situations. Ensures teams plan appropriately for their own capacity.
  • Team dynamics and collaboration: able to bring people together to form motivated teams. Establishes a team environment by building trust and creating transparency. Guides teams through the implementation of a new process.
  • Continuous improvement: able to identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use at scale. Able to recognize when something does not work and encourages a mindset of experimentation. Able to use a blended approach depending on the context. Able to measure and evaluate outcomes. Continuously improve team processes through inspection and adaptation.
  • Ensure product backlog management: Assist the Delivery teams in maintaining a well-groomed product backlog. Help prioritize backlog items based on value and ensure that the team understands and commits to the sprint goals.

Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of working with cross-functional teams
  • 3+ years working as a Scrum Master or in a similar agile role
  • Detailed knowledge & experience of the SDLC
  • Certified Scrum Master or other Agile project management Certifications (CSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP)
  • Detailed knowledge & experience of Agile (Scrum, Kanban) methodologies
  • Possess solid interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively organize and communicate with cross-functional and global teams
  • Experience with Project Management tools, Asana, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint
