Summary of the role
Contact Centre Technologies (CCT) is responsible for providing all technical solutions to the contact Centre that are always-on and in a highly reliable environment, striving to transform our next-generation service into an industry leading contact centre solution. Traditionally Telco based, CCT are now delivering cloud solutions including Amazon Lex, Amazon Connect, data analytics, NLP chatbots, and AI.
The CCT DevOps Engineer will work primarily within the CCT Futures Agile team, one of an ecosystem of agile teams playing a key role in enabling Global Payments’ adoptions of Cloud-based and hybrid services in order to maintain its leading position as an innovative, software-driven payments provider.
As a CCT DevOps Engineer you will have a strong understanding of IaaS tools such as terraform, be proficient using Amazon Lex to build conversational interfaces, and Amazon Connect to deliver SaaS solutions, driving the team forward through evolution of services. You are responsible for:
the design, implementation and testing and support of software solutions
configuration of managed cloud telephony and API services to meet client needs
delivery using infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD and GitOps methods and processes
continuous research and adoption of cloud vendor enhancements and solutions
upholding and updating technical standards
delivering and receiving technical mentoring and training within a cross-functional team
collaboration within an ecosystem of agile teams using Scrum and Kanban

Role responsibilities
Independently
Provide on-call support on a rota basis for issue resolution
Create and configure infrastructure following audit, compliance and infosec policy
Automate infrastructure delivery using IAC and DevOps toolsets
Reuse and enhance existing automation capabilities during fulfilment of work tasks; initiating team- and department- wide demonstration and implementation.
Review work orders to assure requirements are clearly defined and understood. Conduct research and engage requesters to refine and complete requirements gathering.
Complete troubleshooting to progress tasks and remove blockers across multiple tools and services; escalate to colleagues for support and training where required. Make use of vendor support options and relate outcomes / recommendations to the team.
Understand and record how your changes align with ATO (Approval To Operate) quality standards for resilience, availability, disaster recovery & business continuity, patching, compliance and monitoring.
Follow change control processes and participate in the review and approval of peer reviewed changes.
Ensure skills are updated by attending the appropriate courses, utilisation of reference materials, Internet resources, and 3rd party seminars. Coach and train other team members using your own training experience.
Have a high level of interaction with your immediate team and immediate customer/s or close business unit/s. Build relationships with peers in other teams to provide support and feedback for team delivery.
Understand and articulate how your work aligns with team goals and corporate strategy.
Support your product owner and team with proactive involvement in team ceremonies and work task definition.
Create and update platform/service documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
Relevant experience or degree in Computer Science or another similar technical subject
Typically, minimum 1-2 years relevant experience to include some cloud work experience
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years relevant experience, including work with AWS and/or Terraform
Essential Skills and Capabilities
Proficient in AWS core services
Demonstrable experience in conversational interfaces within Amazon Lex
Ability to support B2B Customer Communication Channels, NLP, and dialog management
Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Cloudformation)
CI/CD GitOps experience (Git, Jenkins, Policy-as-Code, DocOps)
Proven proficiency in a range of languages: Python, Javascript, Java, Groovy, json, yaml, Powershell, Shell Script
Demonstrable experience in Systems integration; applications, APIs, data sources
Strong understanding of network connections and secure communication protocols
Any other relevant fullstack experience in an Agile environment
A keen interest in emerging technologies and industry trends e.g. genAI
Desirable skills and Capabilities
Experience in Amazon Connect
AWS qualifications and certifications
Use of Docker and Kubernetes
AI - Amazon Bedrock, LLMs, any experience from previous professional or personal projects
Experience on a range of Operating Systems: Linux, Windows, Mac
Security - SAST, DAST, automated scanning technologies, experience taking a project through corporate security gateways and checkpoints
